University of California, Riverside is seeking a skilled Painter to support campus painting needs, indoors and outdoors, in structures, and on surfaces including signs and curbs.
The role requires 4 years of journey-level painting experience and the ability to read technical documents, estimate materials, and follow safety procedures. Work includes ladder and scaffolding tasks, and coordination with other trades to prepare new builds for occupancy.
The full salary range for the Painter is $40.64 - $45.74 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $45.74 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance Department, the Painter is a skilled trades position supporting the painting needs of the University of California, Riverside campus. The painter is responsible for coordinating and communicating with campus customers to understand their needs and fulfil work order requests for painting services. Painting services may occur indoors, outdoors, in and on structures, street postings, signs, asphalt, and curbs. This position also coordinates with other skilled trades in preparing the campus' new builds for launch and occupancy. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.
Degree: High School Diploma.
4 years of journey-level experience in the painting skilled trade related to maintenance repair and construction.
Experience operating shop equipment, power and hand tools common to the skilled trade, including but not limited to: rollers, brushes, airless and conventional sprayers, hammers, screwdrivers, sanders, scrapers, grinders, wall texturing machines, pressure washers, etc.
Experience with proper usage of colorants, paints, primers, solvents, patching compounds, sealers, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, and thinners.
Experience in safe and proper procedures with removal/abatement of lead based paint.
