Job summary

Wincore Windows and Doors is seeking a Supervisor – Paint Room to lead and oversee the paint area operations in our West Virginia facility. You will plan, assign, and monitor the work of paint personnel, ensuring safety compliance and timely production.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of painting experience, including 6 months of supervisory exposure. Strong leadership, communication, and detail orientation are expected.

  • Oversee quality and environmental safety in the paint area.
  • Support interview process and conduct periodic reviews.

Job description

Job Purpose

The Supervisor – Paint Room will supervise paint functions by planning, assigning, and monitoring the work of assigned staff; filling in for absentees as needed. This position is responsible for overseeing employees engaged in painting, using hand tools and equipment. This supervisor will ensure that all employees follow the prescribed safety guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direction and leads by example.
  • Schedules, assigns, and plans the work of paint personnel performing a variety of tasks.
  • Trains or informs employees of work methods or procedures, changes in safety regulations, and work policies.
  • Oversees and coaches employees, including disciplinary action.
  • Responsible for various daily production reports.
  • Oversees, monitors, and maintains all aspects of direct reports timesheets and approval of PTO/UPTO requests.
  • Enforces safety guidelines and company standards.
  • Provides employees with tools and opportunities to achieve production goals.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for all employees.
  • Participates in the interview process for potential employees.
  • Conducts semi-annual and annual reviews for direct reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of progressively responsible painting experience, including 6 months of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the painting trade.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid organizational and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Skill in the preparation and application of paints to different types of surfaces.
Working Conditions
  • Protective Personal Equipment must be worn as dictated by job responsibilities.
  • Work environment can be impacted by seasonal conditions.
  • Productivity goals are assigned based on a time per unit and are fast paced.
  • All work is performed as a team and is graded as a team – everyone participates.
  • Frequent handling of plastic, vinyl, wood, metal, composite materials, paint, and glass.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand on a continuous basis and walk on a frequent basis during each shift.
  • Lift up to 45 lbs. at waist level and up to 15 lbs. at shoulder level on an occasional basis when moving products.
  • Push or pull with up to 45 lbs. of force on an occasional basis when moving products.
  • Generate up to 25 lbs. of grip strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Generate up to 15 lbs. of pinch strength on an occasional basis with each hand while handling products.
  • Display good eye-hand coordination using both hands on a continuous basis while performing job tasks.
  • This job requires the use of close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Perform elevated work on an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Stoop, kneel, or squat on an occasional basis when handling products.
  • Reach forward and to the side on a frequent basis when handling products.
  • Able to stand and perform repetitive tasks up to 12 hours per day.
