Position Summary

The Project Manager will be responsible for managing paintshop automation project execution — including planning, engineering, resources, contract, communication, and financial control — from receipt of purchase order through buyoff and closeout. This role ensures project KPIs are met, including customer satisfaction, while leading cross-functional teams across Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, direct, and lead project team members including design engineering, process engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, installation engineering, and subcontractors.
• Maintain accountability for project profit, cash flow, on‑time delivery, and quality of supplied equipment.
• Develop and maintain project schedule, resource plan, and procurement plan.
• Forecast project financial performance and manage cost accuracy for improved profitability.
• Manage project changes and protect against financial risk throughout the project lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary customer-facing contact; manage customer expectations and ensure contract scope is met.
• Ensure clear and consistent communication across internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Identify issues and resolve them in a timely manner as they arise during project execution.
• Execute planning and control of internal and external resources to drive customer satisfaction and quality.
• Provide input on quoting and pre‑sale activities as needed.
• Travel to customer and project sites as required (up to 75%).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ years of paint application and Project/Program Management experience.
• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle preferred.
• Ability to effectively lead and manage project personnel, subcontractors, and support groups.
• Cost estimating and management skills; negotiation skills.
• Master's degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field preferred.
• Background in construction or automotive automation systems preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience working in an international environment or with remote teams preferred.
