RESRG Automotive is seeking you to join our team as a Paint Rack Maintenance Technician in our Morehead, KY location!
Your Job
The Paint Rack Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing rack maintenance activities while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, organization, and productivity. This position requires strong technical expertise in welding, fabrication, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Paint Rack Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor and supports the reliability and performance of production racks and related equipment.
What you Will do in Your Role
Safety & 5S
- Maintain safety and 5S as the highest priority at all times.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Identify and report safety hazards, equipment concerns, and opportunities for workplace improvements.
- Support company safety initiatives and participate in corrective actions when needed.
Rack Preventative Maintenance Execution
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities on production racks and related equipment.
- Accurately document completed maintenance activities and findings.
- Inspect racks for wear, damage, and potential quality concerns.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to established standards and schedules.
- Assist in maintaining rack reliability to support production requirements.
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform welding, fabrication, and repair activities on production racks and associated components.
- Conduct structural repairs and modifications to maintain rack functionality and safety.
- Utilize proper welding methods, tools, and equipment in accordance with company standards.
- Assist with fabrication of new rack components and custom projects as needed.
Engineering & Design Support
- Support engineering-driven rack improvement projects and modifications.
- Assist with implementation of ergonomic, safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
- Utilize SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD when applicable. Training may be provided.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to identify and implement approved rack enhancements.
Continuous Improvement & Culture
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to support organizational change.
- Support company culture initiatives, values, and application of the 7 Mindsets.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across departments to achieve operational goals.
Rack Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis
- Monitor rack performance-related metrics, including missing parts, fall-off incidents, misloads, and rack damage.
- Maintain accurate data tracking using Excel, Power BI, or other approved systems.
- Assist in identifying trends and contributing to corrective actions that improve rack performance.
- Support visual management systems and performance reporting activities.
- Recommend opportunities to improve rack maintenance efficiency, reduce manual processes, and support automation initiatives where practical.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical training, welding certification, or related maintenance experience preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance, fabrication, welding, or manufacturing experience preferred.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Strong welding and fabrication skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Power BI, SolidWorks, and/or AutoCAD preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, and moving equipment.
- Ability to perform welding and fabrication activities safely and effectively.
