Job summary

The Pittsburgh Paints Company is seeking a Production Associate – Filler/Strainer on 2nd shift (Mon–Thu 3 PM–1 AM) with overtime Fridays and occasional Saturdays. You will work on automated filling equipment to manufacture and package paints and stains.

Key tasks include setting up and monitoring lines, performing quality checks, and communicating issues to maintenance. Expect lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and strict adherence to PPE and safety rules.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work overtime as needed.
• Able to read, understand, and follow instructions and operating procedures in English.
• Able to wear all required PPE, including hard hat, FR uniform, steel/composite toe safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and other protective gear.
• Comfortable working in environments with temperature variations.
• Able to stand for long periods and climb stairs.
• Able to bend, reach, and lift during tasks that involve transfer hoses, drums, or similar materials.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to safely operate a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT).
• Ability to complete and demonstrate understanding of required safety training.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot filling equipment in a solvents environment.
• Perform quality inspections (verify fill volumes, labeling, coding).
• Lift cases or pails onto filling line conveyors.
• Drive PIT to supply or remove materials or finished products.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards.
• Contribute to production efficiency improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
