Job summary

AXISCADES is seeking a Paint Process Engineer for our Peoria, IL site. This 100% onsite, full-time role focuses on developing and optimizing painting processes, maintaining equipment, and ensuring top-quality finishes across the shop floor.

You will implement process improvements, support fixture design, and drive continuous improvement in a safety-focused environment. The role emphasizes collaboration with production and design teams, training of staff, and adherence to Lean, Six Sigma, and

Qualifications

Experience in manufacturing paint processes and quality control.
Strong problem-solving and Lean/Six Sigma principles.
Ability to train staff and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Process development and optimization of painting operations to maximize quality and efficiency.
Overseeing maintenance and calibration of painting equipment; support fixtures and tooling.
Developing paint process QC plans for pre-treatment, electrocoat, sealer, topcoat and polishing.
Troubleshooting adhesion, drying/curing, and application issues; program automated paint systems.
Collaborating with production and design teams to ensure manufacturability; train staff on painting techniques and safety.
Ensure safety, environmental compliance, Lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement.
