Job summary

Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Inc. seeks a Paint Engineer to positively impact safety, quality, productivity, and cost KPIs through problem solving and process improvements.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role supports the Paint department’s objective to safely build high-quality vehicles, collaborating with production and maintenance teams on change points and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Applied Engineering.
• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment in an engineering/technical role.
• Cost justification experience (ringi and/or budget development).
• Strong communication skills across levels of internal and external groups.
• Project management experience with milestones and status reporting.
• Ability to support 24-hour production operations and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to resolve manufacturing operational issues.
• Gather and analyze detailed data to inform decisions impacting vehicle quality.
• Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance for process improvements.
• Oversee management of process/material change points.
• Manage and lead multiple projects, ensuring timely completion and alignment with goals.
• Participate in cross-functional teams including production, safety, maintenance, and quality.
