Job summary

Westmor Industries is seeking a detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to support our night shift production team. This role helps ensure high-quality finishes and maintains efficiency of our paint operations.

Night shift: 4:30pm–5:00am, Mon–Thurs, with a $3/hour differential. Benefits include weekly pay, boot reimbursements, comprehensive medical/dental/vision, 401K with 5% match, and spot bonuses.

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation: Sand surfaces using an air sander, apply sand poly and primer, verify removal of spatter and slag, apply filler for a smooth finish.
• Measurement & Documentation: Measure pre- and post-sand dry mill thickness, record measurements, complete paperwork accurately.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily maintenance on paint prep equipment, clean booths/lights, change filters, keep area organized.
• Safety & Operation: Identify areas not designated for paint, operate tuggers/lifts safely, wear PPE and follow safety procedures.
• Coordination & Organization: Coordinate workload with team, maintain a clean, efficient work area

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation
  • Sand surfaces using an air sander
  • Apply sand poly and primer
  • Verify removal of spatter and slag
  • Apply filler to achieve a smooth, paint‑ready finish
• Measurement & Documentation
  • Measure pre‑and post‑sand dry mill thickness
  • Record measurements using proper devices
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately
• Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform daily maintenance on paint prep equipment
  • Clean paint booths and lights
  • Change filters as needed
  • Keep the paint prep area organized and production‑ready
• Safety & Operation
  • Identify and mask areas not designated for paint
  • Safely operate tuggers, lifts, and other machinery
  • Wear proper PPE and follow all safety procedures
• Coordination & Organization
  • Coordinate workflow with team members
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and efficient work area

Compensation

• The starting pay range for this position is $18 - $22 per hour. Final compensation will depend on various factors including: skills, experience, and location.
• Night shift positions receive an additional $3 per hour shift differential
