Job summary

Oshkosh Delivery is seeking a Paint Tech I to wipe, sand, and inspect parts prepared for painting. You will plug/mask components, blow out water, and use the overhead hoist to hang parts. You will also help train others in paint prep.

The role requires basic computer, math, and reading skills, with 1–2 years in automotive manufacturing and prior paint prep experience. A safety-focused, team-oriented candidate who can work independently is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Previous paint prep experience.
• Fundamental computer, math, and reading skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environments.
• Must follow established methods and procedures.
• Ability to communicate with leadership and teammates in writing and speech.
• Must be team oriented and able to work independently.
• High School Diploma/GED; related certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Wipe, sand, inspect parts and prepare painted parts.
• Plug and mask parts and blow out water; use overhead hoist to hang parts.
• Maintain a safe, clean 5S work area and follow safety procedures.
• Inspect parts for quality and ensure production standards.
• Assist in driving root causes and corrective actions for defects.
• Maintain inventory by labeling, stocking, and recording materials.
• Assist in training paint preparation processes and equipment.
• Polish, take readings (gloss, wave, scan, color) and adhesion tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
