Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Paint Prep I to prepare parts for painting, including wiping, sanding, inspecting, plugging and masking components. This role also involves removing water/debris from parts and hanging them using overhead hoists to meet quality standards.

Responsibilities include operating material handling equipment, inspecting finished parts, and helping identify causes of paint defects, while maintaining inventory and a safe work environment in a production setting.

Qualifications

  • Overtime may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Regular on-site attendance.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Tugger certification required.
  • Tractor certification required.
  • Telescopic Material Handler License required.

Responsibilities

  • Wipe, sand, inspect parts and prepare for paint repairs.
  • Plug and mask parts for proper paint adhesion.
  • Blow out water and debris from cavities in parts.
  • Operate overhead hoist to hang parts for painting.
  • Inspect finished parts for production and quality standards.
  • Identify and help address root causes of paint defects.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, tuggers).
  • Label, stock, and record materials and supplies as needed to maintain inventory.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work area per safety procedures and 6S standards.
