Job summary

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company (MRL) in Billings, MT is seeking a Paint Prep Technician to support our manufacturing team. You will prepare parts for finishing paint, perform power washing, grinding, masking, and sanding, and help ensure on-time production.

This role runs a 5:00am–3:30pm shift, Monday–Friday, with weekly pay and a starting rate of $19/hour DOE plus quarterly bonus opportunity. Federal Signal benefits apply, including health, dental, life, 401(k) matching, and more.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to use a pallet jack and overhead crane preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare manufactured parts for finish painting by performing one or more of the following items: power washing, grinding, masking, and sanding.
• Organize and transport identified part into assigned area
• Sort, load, and organize identified parts onto the conveyor system in an efficient manner.
• Using appropriate tools, blast parts to prepare for the finishing painting process.
• Input and scan work order data into MRP/JDE system using RF scanner, keyboard and mouse
• Meet predetermined daily/weekly/monthly production schedules and ensure parts are completed and ready for production stations.
• Follow all procedures and processes in accordance to apply paint to manufactured parts and produce a defect-free product.
• Complete the required inspection process, repair/correct any defect, and resolve any quality issues with other departments as required.
• Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
• Actively participate in the continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability of the company.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

MRL Equipment is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to support our manufacturing team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time production.
