Job summary

Mark Rite Lines Equipment Company, a subsidiary of Federal Signal, is seeking a Paint Prep Technician to support our manufacturing team in Billings, MT. You will prepare parts for finishing paint, including power washing, grinding, masking, and sanding, and ensure parts move efficiently through the production line.

Key duties include organizing parts, operating the conveyor system, scanning work orders in the MRP/JDE system, and maintaining quality to meet schedules.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Pallet jack and overhead crane experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare manufactured parts for finish painting by power washing, grinding, masking, and sanding.
  • Organize and transport identified parts to assigned area.
  • Sort, load, and organize identified parts onto the conveyor system for production.
  • Input and scan work orders into MRP/JDE system using RF scanner, keyboard and mouse.
  • Meet daily/weekly/monthly production schedules and ensure parts are ready for production stations.

MRL Equipment is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Paint Prep Technician to support our manufacturing team. In this role, you will prepare manufactured parts for the finishing paint process through power washing, grinding, sanding, masking, blasting, and organizing materials for production. This position plays a critical role in ensuring quality, efficiency, and on-time production.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare manufactured parts for finish painting by performing one or more of the following items: power washing, grinding, masking, and sanding.
  • Organize and transport identified part into assigned area
  • Sort, load, and organize identified parts onto the conveyor system in an efficient manner.
  • Using appropriate tools, blast parts to prepare for the finishing painting process.
  • Input and scan work order data into MRP/JDE system using RF scanner, keyboard and mouse
  • Meet predetermined daily/weekly/monthly production schedules and ensure parts are completed and ready for production stations.
  • Follow all procedures and processes in accordance to apply paint to manufactured parts and produce a defect-free product.
  • Complete the required inspection process, repair/correct any defect, and resolve any quality issues with other departments as required.
  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement of our products and processes to better serve our customers and improve the overall profitability of the company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use a pallet jack and overhead crane preferred.
Additional Job Information:Typical Shift: 5:00am to 3:30pm, Monday-FridayPay Transparency: Starting at $19 DOE + Quarterly Bonus Opportunity
