Job summary

Rice Lake Weighing Systems, Inc. is seeking a Paint Prep Operator to prepare parts for painting using phosphatizing equipment and power tools. The role requires operating a forklift and overhead crane, reading blueprints, and maintaining safety and quality standards on the work floor.

The candidate should be able to read and speak English and work in a wet indoor environment. Prior experience with phosphatizing processes and power tools is preferred but not required, with on-the-job training

Job description

The Paint Prep Operator operates phosphatizing equipment (power washer/spray wand) to prep parts for painting. Operates power hand tools such as: hand grinder, dual action (da) sander and wire wheels. Ability to work with phosphatizing chemicals is a must. Ensures that all parts are prepared prior to painting to ensure paint adhesion.

Essential Job Functions/Major Tasks

• Operates phosphatizing equipment on an assortment of products.
• Sets up and maintains equipment.
• Ensures products are correctly prepared.
• Works in a manner in which quality of work and safety are top priorities.
• Maintains a neat, clean and organized work area while performing paint prep duties.
• Notify direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly.
• Maintains accurate records of time and quantities, etc.
• Operate powered industrial truck (forklift) and overhead crane(s).
• Must have ability to read and speak English

• Lifting: Occasional up to 20lbs.Seldom up to 100 lbs

Education and Experience
