Job summary

Smeal, a REV Group brand, is seeking a skilled production body painter helper in Snyder, NE to support painting prep and body work for fire apparatus. The role requires attention to detail, basic math, and ability to use hand and power tools.

You’ll operate paint prep equipment, maintain a clean workspace, and collaborate with teammates to meet production deadlines. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational training in body repair, and experience buffing or prep work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational training in body/work vehicle repair or equivalent experience.
• Experience buffing or prepping surfaces is preferred.
• Fluent reading of truck specifications.
• Ability to work safely and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and teamwork.
• Ability to work overtime with short notice.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• English communication is required.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision after two weeks.

Responsibilities

• Grind welds and prepare surface for painting.
• Maintain and clean paint equipment.
• Sand vehicle to prepare for painting.
• Buff basic items.
• Caulk exterior areas for painting prep.
• Operate equipment to apply primer coat.
• Complete taping and masking for body work and painting.
• Read and interpret truck specifications as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Assist other team members and departments as needed.
