Job summary

Metro Services is seeking to immediately fill Paint Mixing Technician positions for a Manufacturing company in Tawas City, MI. This Temp-to-Hire role supports daily production on the paint line, controls mixing processes and equipment changeovers, and ensures safety and quality.

You will monitor inventory, follow SOPs, perform preventative maintenance, and keep the mixing area clean using 6S practices. Shifts include 2nd and 3rd, with overtime, pay $20.00/hour.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.
• Basic math skills including percentages and measurements.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
• Willingness to work different hours and shifts as needed.
• Ability to work in high-temperature and high-humidity environments.
• Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods.
• Adherence to quality, safety, environmental and recycling procedures.
• Previous paint, manufacturing, chemical, or industrial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work within the paint line and mixing room to support production operations.
• Control paint mixing processes and equipment changeovers for efficiency and quality.
• Monitor inventory of paint, chemicals, and materials and communicate restocking needs.
• Follow SOPs when using tools such as dual-action sanders and paint sprayers.
• Safely handle sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals with PPE.
• Perform assigned preventative maintenance within the paint line.
• Maintain the paint mixing room and surrounding areas using 6S practices.
• Identify and report product, process, or quality concerns and assist with corrective actions.
