Job summary

STS Technical Services in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an Industrial Paint Supervisor for the second shift. You will lead daily production activities, coordinate staff, and ensure safety, quality and on-time scheduling across the painting operations.

Qualifications

  • Three to five years of manufacturing experience.
  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work effectively and safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to lead, motivate and coordinate production employees.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, blueprints and job documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adjust priorities based on changing production demands.
  • Ability to work 40 to 50 hours per week on second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production departments and ensure schedules are met.
  • Delegate assignments to second‑shift personnel and monitor progress.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders for workers.
  • Plan and organize work to meet production schedules.

  • Monitor quality and adjust as needed.
  • Track schedule changes and modify workflow accordingly.
  • Troubleshoot production problems and resolve issues promptly.
  • Motivate team members to complete tasks accurately and on time.
  • Ensure proper use of personnel across production areas.
  • Train new employees and support their development.
  • Inspect equipment and promote safe work practices.
  • Monitor materials usage and aim to reduce waste.
  • Communicate schedules and changes across the organization.
  • Inspect products and equipment for defects; escalate concerns when required.

Position Overview

The Industrial Paint Supervisor will work closely with the Production Manager to coordinate second‑shift production activities and ensure assigned work is completed safely, accurately and on schedule.

This role requires strong floor leadership, clear communication and the ability to adjust staffing and workflow as production needs change. The selected candidate will delegate assignments, monitor quality, troubleshoot production issues, train employees and help ensure equipment and materials are used effectively.
