Job summary

Kress Corporation in Brimfield, IL is seeking a full-time Paint Line Supervisor to oversee the paint line operations in our heavy equipment manufacturing environment. You will ensure production targets, quality standards, and safety compliance, supervise painters and prep staff, and collaborate with quality, engineering, and maintenance teams to improve processes.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in industrial or heavy equipment paint environment.
• Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of industrial coatings, paint systems, finishing processes.
• Ability to interpret quality standards, specifications, and blueprints.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of paint line employees, including painters, prep technicians, and material handlers.
• Ensure production targets are met while maintaining quality standards and minimizing downtime.
• Monitor paint application processes including surface prep, priming, topcoat, curing, and inspection.
• Enforce safety policies, PPE usage, and environmental compliance (OSHA, EPA, VOC standards).
• Troubleshoot paint defects, equipment issues, and process interruptions.
• Train, coach, and evaluate paint line employees.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Maintain accurate production, scrap, and labor records.
