Job summary

Steffes is seeking a Paint Technician to apply paint products in accordance with customer and QMS specifications. The Day Shift runs 6:00a–4:30p, Monday through Thursday, with Friday overtime based on production needs.

You will operate spray equipment, perform sanding, maintain spray guns, and meet safety and quality requirements. Follow build boards and Kanban system requirements, report inconsistencies or defects, and work collaboratively with customers, suppliers, and teammates to support

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of related work experience.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet).
  • Familiarity with HVLP or electrostatic guns and related equipment is a plus.
  • Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills.
  • An acceptable combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Apply paint products per customer and QMS specifications.
  • Follow standard work, training guides, procedures, and acceptance criteria.
  • Operate paint spray equipment, sanding tools, and hand tools.
  • Maintain and clean spray guns and related equipment.
  • Follow build boards and Kanban system requirements.
  • Report inconsistencies and/or defects in material, product or equipment.
  • Maintain a collaborative positive work atmosphere with customers, suppliers, co-workers, and management.
  • Helps company meet its Strategic, Quality and Safety objectives.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Job Requirements/Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of prior work experience in related field
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows, email, internet, etc.)
  • Familiarity with HVLP and/or electrostatic guns, pressure pots, and proportioners is a plus.
  • Written and verbal communication, math, reading, and spelling skills

Physical Demands of Position
  • This position requires walking and standing to a significant degree.
  • This position requires working in tight spaces with areas less than 30” possible.
  • Must have the ability to lift 70 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs.
  • Certain products may require laying on the floor in order to paint correctly.
  • Stooping, crouching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Handling, feeling, and gripping would be required for most activities.
  • Visual acuity is required to inspect work before and after completion.
  • This role may be subject to internal and external environmental conditions.
