Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator for the Paint and Blast department at the Kimball, TN facility. The role supports the final stages of production, ensuring surfaces are properly coated and protected for long-term performance.

As a 1st shift position with a 4x10 schedule, the operator will follow safety protocols, work with masking materials, and maintain production logs while contributing to a clean, organized work area and high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Must be safety-conscious in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders.
• Familiarity with basic measuring tools for inspection of parts.
• Must be organized and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Spray surfaces with primers or coatings as specified.
• Monitor painting operations and correct defects.
• Read job orders and inspect workpieces to determine procedures.
• Apply masking materials prior to painting.
• Operate blast booth equipment to remove rust and paint.
• Observe gauges to detect defects and adjust as needed.
• Move materials to and from paint/blast areas safely.
• Mix paints to match color specs and prepare finishes.
• Place coated pieces in ovens/dryers to cure.
• Disassemble and clean sprayers and power tools.
• Dispose of hazardous waste according to safety guidelines.
• Maintain production and quality logs.
• Keep work areas clean and organized.
• Follow Stop, Call, Wait safety procedure and report issues.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
