Job summary

Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs in Charleston, SC seeks a highly experienced Pain Medicine physician to lead the Pain Management Section. The role involves performing interventional procedures, supervising staff, and advancing a comprehensive pain management program for Veterans.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, mentor trainees, and guide clinical research initiatives while ensuring adherence to VHA policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must hold an MD/DO with full and unrestricted license in the US.
• Board certification in Pain Medicine is preferred or required per seniority.
• Experience in interventional pain procedures and SCS programs is expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Pain Management Section with direct supervisory responsibility.
• Perform and supervise interventional pain procedures including SCS trials and implants.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with neurosurgery, orthopedics, and PAs.
• Develop and evaluate policies, guidelines, and quality assurance programs.
• Lead telehealth pain management initiatives and academic affiliations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and radiation safety during procedures.
