Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Nurse Associate (RN) to join the Pain Management Clinic, partnering with the clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role coordinates diagnostic and therapeutic regimens, liaises with physicians, researchers, families, and supports clinical research activities. This full-time onsite position requires Illinois RN licensure, at least two years RN experience, and progress toward BSN with tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed RN in Illinois.
• Minimum of two years' RN experience.
• ADN nurses must enroll in BSN within 6–9 months of hire and progress toward BSN within 30 months.

Responsibilities

• Triages patient calls and coordinates physician communication.
• Assists physicians in clinic/procedures and monitors vital signs during procedures.
• Counsels patients on lifestyle changes, medications, side effects, and interactions.
• Coordinates follow-up appointments and pre-operative testing with staff.
• Assists in coordinating admissions and testing with fellows, attendings, and nursing staff.
• Supports clinical research by screening patients and assisting in data collection and analysis.
