Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred; one year in a medical office setting is desirable.
• If not graduated from a medical assisting program, three years of medical office experience is required.
• Knowledge of outpatient medical practice, patient care, and basic lab/imaging orders.

Responsibilities

• Take and record vital signs and prepare patients for examinations.
• Enter lab and imaging orders; collect and prepare specimens.
• Update patient records in the EMR and coordinate scheduling.
• Answer phones; schedule appointments and manage referrals.
• Remove sutures and dressings; transmit prescription refills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
