Job summary

Great Plains Health in Nebraska is seeking a Clinic Registered Nurse (GPPN) to check patients in, obtain vitals via EMR, review records, and ensure supplies and sterile rooms. The RN will triage calls, support in-office procedures, and manage medication and sample distribution.

The role requires an accredited nursing program graduate with a current RN license and BLS certification. Exposure to a private physician office setting is expected, with attention to safety and accuracy in charting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice or compact licensure.
• BLS certification is required. Additional certification or CE may be required based on area of practice.

Responsibilities

• Ensures quality patient care and adheres to provider preferences for their patients. Explains procedures and reinforces provider recommendations using AIDET.
• Administers injections/immunizations as prescribed by providers.
• Uses EHR to record visit, vital signs, ROS, medication lists and patient information accurately.
• Maintains sample medications by logging receipt and manages requests for refills with pharmacies.
• Tracks lab and procedure orders and communicates results to the healthcare team.
• Initiates patient education plans and documents understanding in the chart.
• Completes and documents patient phone calls in the chart.
• Assists with office procedures as requested by physician.
• Administers IV/medications/treatments/procedures as prescribed by physician.
