Job summary

Rutgers University—New Jersey Medical School seeks a full-time Attending/Associate Professor level anesthesiologist with advanced pain management training. The role involves outpatient pain care, intraoperative anesthesia for adults, and teaching residents and fellows at University Hospital.

Responsibilities include procedures in the Pain Center, on-site services in ORs, collaboration with faculty, and potential involvement in a pain fellowship program.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education and Experience: Anesthesiologist/Pain Management Sub-specialty.
• Certifications/Licenses: MD/Board certified
• Preferred Qualifications: Anesthesiologist/General Anesthesia & Pain Management

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site anesthesia services to adult patients at University Hospital in the Main Operating Rooms as well as the Same-Day-Surgery ORs in the Doctor’s Office Center and various off-the-floor locations.
• Treat patients with chronic pain in the Comprehensive Pain Management Center.
• Perform procedures in the Main OR and DOC when appropriate.
• Provide intraoperative and didactic teaching that forwards pain management division.
• Participate in various divisional/departmental/institutional initiatives and activities.
• Participate in Faculty Development and skill/knowledge acquisition initiatives.
• Participate and promote research that forwards the discipline both academically and clinically.
• All medical records must be completed in accordance with NJMS and hospital policies, including the completion of all medical records within 7 days of the date of service.
• Complete all charge submissions within 14 days of the date of service; and
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Chair and/or Division Chief.
