Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond seeks a Chronic Pain Physician to join the Anesthesiology department. The role provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of chronic pain patients, working with a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based medical and interventional care.

The successful candidate will contribute to education of trainees, maintain high standards of safety and care, and participate in departmental activities.

Qualifications

• MD degree and active VA medical license
• Current/Active DEA license
• Current CPR and BLS certifications
• ACLS certifications where needed
• Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws
• Demonstrated ability to foster respect and professionalism with faculty, staff, and students from diverse backgrounds

Responsibilities

• Provide medical and/or surgical care for chronic pain as designated by the Department Chair and Medical Director/Program Director for Chronic Pain.
• Perform diagnostic, therapeutic and preventive care including histories, physicals, tests, diagnoses, and medications as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary medical team to deliver timely, evidence-based pain management and interventional procedures; supervise trainees as needed.
