Job summary

Essentia Health Virginia Care Center is offering a no-cost Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training opportunity in partnership with Advanced Minnesota. Trainees will earn income during training and receive a CNA wage upon certification.

As a CNA Trainee, you will assist with personal care, keep residents safe and comfortable, help with meals, and support residents’ emotional well-being. Training is part of a self-directed team approach with rotation across duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare setting is preferred.
• Interest in Long Term Care is preferred.
• Must pass the educational component and receive their certificate of completion within 4 months from date of hire as a student.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed professionals and direct care staff with personal care tasks based on individualized care plans.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment for residents.
• Assist with meal setup, water pass, and other basic personal care needs.
• Provide activities and exercise opportunities as assigned.
• Support residents with psychosocial needs and emotional well-being.
• Observe and promptly report changes in residents’ conditions to supervisors.
• Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with entrance screening and other duties as assigned.

The Essentia Health Virginia Care Center team is excited to partner with Advanced Minnesota to offer free Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training for individuals interested in beginning a rewarding career in healthcare. This program covers the full cost of education and the certification exam required to become a CNA. Participants will also earn income while training by providing indirect care to patients.

As a CNA Trainee, You Will:

• Assist licensed professionals and direct care staff with personal care tasks based on individualized care plans to ensure residents’ comfort.

Rate of Pay:

• $15.00/hour during training
• CNA wage upon certification, based on Essentia Health Virginia Care Center’s CNA pay scale - $19.22/hour base

This position is part of a self-directed, cross trained team. Each team member is trained in direct resident care, housekeeping, laundry, dietary, and activity functions following facility policies, procedures, and programs. A holistic approach will be taken to coordinate resident/patient centered care in a home like environment.
