Job summary

HLB Gross Collins is seeking a Spring 2028 Tax Intern to join our Kennesaw, GA office. You will gain hands-on experience across federal and state tax compliance and planning in a supportive public accounting environment.

You will work with a team of professionals, learn about domestic and international tax matters, and develop proficiency with tax software under mentorship. This paid internship focuses on building a foundation for a future Tax Staff role.

Qualifications

• Junior or Senior pursuing BA/BS or MS in Accounting or related field.
• GPA of 3.4/4.0 or higher required.
• Curious, proactive, and able to take on tasks to completion.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; willingness to learn tax software.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of client engagements in various industries.
• Prepare state and federal tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and other businesses.
• Identify and assess domestic and international tax matters.
• Research tax laws, rules, and regulations; analyze their application to engagements.
• Review data entry to reconcile technical tax issues.
• Develop proficiency with various tax software and tools.
• Grow and learn under a dedicated mentor.
• Collaborate and network with staff, managers, and partners.
