Job summary

Rochester Regional Health offers a 6-week paid internship for Surgical Technology students in the Rochester area. The program runs 40 hours per week in the Perioperative department, starting June 14, 2027, with weekly educational opportunities and networking.

Enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology program is required. The internship provides hands-on experience, patient care exposure, and opportunities to learn sterile technique and case preparation alongside experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited Surgical Technology Program required.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year patient care and/or operating room experience in an accredited hospital preferred.
• Basic computer skills.
• Demonstrate understanding of aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Intern will rotate through and learn the following: Anesthesia
• Surgical Case Prep
• Sterile Technique
• Surgical Scrub, Donning & Doffing of Sterile Scrub Attire
• Surgical Instruments
• Sterilization
