Job summary

Avera St Mary's Hospital in Pierre, SD offers a paid Nursing Clinical Intern internship for Summer 2027. Must be enrolled in a CCNE/NLN accredited RN program with 1–2 semesters remaining after Summer 2027. The internship supports varied shifts and provides RN mentorship to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Interns review physician prescriptions, participate in care planning, and coordinate with the healthcare team while learning the nursing process in a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a CCNE or NLN accredited RN program and have completed all but the final one or two semesters.
• Must be pursuing a BSN and have 1 or 2 semesters remaining after Summer 2027.
• Willingness to work varied shifts and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by obtaining histories, examining patients, and documenting status.
• Teaches patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care skills.
