Qualifications

• Currently enrolled full-time in an Associate's degree program or higher.
• Basic knowledge of engineering principles.
• Must be at least 18 years old by start of employment.
• Must maintain full-time graduate status taking 9+ credit hours per semester before and after internship, or full-time undergraduate status taking 12+ credit hours per semester.

Responsibilities

• Engage in planned, education-related work experiences integrating theory with practical application.
• Communicate effectively with VDOT staff and external contacts; proactively resolve issues.
• Apply engineering technology principles to assigned program areas; interpret policies.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on testing equipment.
• Prepare and maintain daily project documentation; ensure timely submission.
• Maintain accurate records for all project activities and manage data entry.
