Job summary

Excellus BCBS offers a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergrad and graduate students. Interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored by managers, and attend development workshops focused on business concepts.

Tracks include Business Administration, IT, Actuarial, Analytics & Data, Finance, Marketing, Project Management, and more. The program runs from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).

Qualifications

• Must be in good academic standing.
• Enrollment in full-time undergrad or grad program with continuous college enrollment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of rate or Medicare bid filings through analysis of benefit designs and claims experience.
• Prepare accurate and timely trend analyses.
• Develop preliminary reserve and future claim liabilities for internal/regulatory reporting.
• Support risk adjustment analyses and risk sharing initiatives.
• Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and other analyses.
• Produce documentation of work and deliver ad-hoc analyses as needed.
• Collaborate with mentor and contribute to key strategic projects.
• Deliver presentations at internship completion.
