Job summary

Platte Valley Equipment LLC offers a Service Technician Internship tied to an active two-year John Deere Diesel Technician associate degree program. The internship blends classroom instruction with hands-on lab work to build core service skills, safety awareness, and professional reporting disciplines.

Participants complete two years of training, earn sponsor mentorship, and pursue certifications in Electrical, Hydraulics, and Service Advisor areas while maintaining a 2.7 GPA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A valid driver’s license is mandatory.
• Interest in outdoor power equipment and agricultural machinery.
• Willingness to learn and work diligently.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete two years of instructor-led classroom and lab training while maintaining a minimum 2.7 GPA.
• Complete internship requirements within the Student Tech program.
• Meet the John Deere University curriculum credit requirements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and complete required reports and forms.
• Assist senior technicians and perform basic service tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage time/materials.
• Develop skills in disassembly and reconditioning of components; assist with pre-delivery setup as needed.
