Job summary

Altorfer Inc. invites students to join the Think Big Program, a Caterpillar Dealer Service Technology Program that pays you while you learn. The two-year curriculum rotates between Illinois Central College and an Altorfer branch for hands-on training.

Students study hydraulics, engines, electrical systems, diagnostics, and undercarriage concepts, with the goal of earning an Associate in Applied Sciences. The program offers a paid internship and tuition reimbursement for eligible students.

Qualifications

• Drive for a career in service technology.
• Self-starter with good time management, planning and organizational skills.
• Must be able to lift 75-100 lbs and maintain above-average GPA.
• Must have or be obtaining a High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license.
• Basic computer skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Learn a skilled trade in a two-year, rotating curriculum between ICC and an Altorfer branch.
• Attend 8 weeks at Illinois Central College and 8 weeks at a dealer location.
• Complete courses such as Fundamentals of Hydraulics, Engine Fuel Systems, Electrical Systems, Diagnostics, and Undercarriage/Final Drives.
