Mindrift is running a paid three-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan to learn how German speakers use their phones and apps in daily life.

You will participate for three days (Mon-Wed or Thu-Sat), share examples of phone usage, complete a short habits questionnaire, and receive $100 per hour (up to $2,400 total).

Competenze

• 18+ and currently living in NYC.
• A native German speaker who grew up in Austria.
• You use German in everyday life: texting friends, email, notes.
• You’ve used a smartphone as your main personal phone for 3+ years.
• Comfortable communicating in English.
• Available for 3 consecutive days (Mon-Wed or Thu-Sat), starting October 16 on Friday.
• Not currently employed by a tech or AI company.

Mindrift is running a research study on how people use their phones, apps and everyday digital tools, and how that differs across languages and cultures. We're looking for native German speakers in New York to join a paid, 3-day in-person study in Midtown Manhattan.

Why your language matters

Most technology is still designed with English speakers in mind. This study helps researchers understand how people who communicate in German actually use their devices, so future products work better for them.

What you'll do

• Share examples of your everyday phone activity with the research team. You decide what's included.
• Fill in a short questionnaire about your habits.
