Job summary

The American Red Cross in New York State is hiring for a phlebotomy-support role at donation sites. You will assist with blood collection, prep equipment, ensure donor comfort, and follow all safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations.

Paid phlebotomy training is provided to grow your healthcare skills within the organization. Starting rate is $20/hour with potential increases based on experience; on-site shifts and occasional driving for mobile drives may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required.
• A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Take time to personally connect with donors and explain how donations impact patients.
• Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming environment for donors.
• Be detail-oriented to ensure collected blood meets goals, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
• May drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setup and teardown at donation sites.
