Job summary

Excel Sports Management in Irvine, CA, offers a paid Performance Intern program running January 2027 through May 2027. Interns work 24–29.9 hours per week, report to the Irvine office, and gain exposure to multiple divisions through learning sessions.

The role includes athlete coaching, program development, and hands-on sports science experiences under supervision. Must meet internal qualification criteria and is in-person with transportation/housing arrangements by interns.

Qualifications

• Senior status in college (completed junior year) or bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Sport Science, Strength & Conditioning, Exercise Physiology, Data Science, or related field.
• Master’s degree in above fields or related discipline may apply.
• Possess or pursue CSCS certification through NSCA.

Responsibilities

• Athlete coaching and program development for speed, agility, strength, power, and conditioning.
• Performance testing and data analysis to inform training plans and progress.
• Integrated athlete development with coaches, therapists, and other specialists; translate assessments into strategies.
• Maintain safe, organized facility operations and professional standards; attend bi-weekly educational sessions.
