Job summary

Wedgwood Christian Services in Grand Rapids offers a Nursing Intern position for Fall 2026 within our Residential Behavioral Health program for youth ages 10-18. The role provides hands-on nursing experience, supporting medication management and health assessments under supervision.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s Nursing program.
• Interest in working with adolescents with mental health needs.
• Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical clinical practice.
• Ability to maintain consistent, reliable attendance and adhere to scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

• Observe and assist with medication management processes.
• Support health-related documentation, including assessments and observations.
• Assist with triage of minor injuries under supervision.
• Administer medications, including injections and vaccines, as permitted and supervised.
• Learn and apply standing medical orders and clinical protocols.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary team environment supporting youth care.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment grounded in the Sanctuary Model (safety, emotional intelligence, open communication, and social learning).
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in alignment with healthcare standards.
