Job summary

Zekelman Industries’ Z Modular is seeking an Architectural Designer Intern for Summer 2027 in Troy, MI. You will support design and development of modular building solutions, including architectural drawings, shop drawings, and code research, reporting to the Architectural Project Manager.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture with a 3.0+ GPA, knowledge of Revit, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Knowledge and experience with Revit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to travel for on-site observations and internship events.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing architectural plans, sections, elevations, details, and other drafting tasks under the direction of a Project Architect.
• Prepare shop drawings for plant fabrication using Revit.
• Develop construction details for shop installation and site‑built conditions.
• Research building codes and standards for compliance.
• Join team members for on‑site observations in Arizona and Texas.
• Promote safe and healthy work practices in compliance with policy and regulatory standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
