Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, offers a paid architectural designer intern position for Summer 2027 in Troy, MI. You will support the design and development of modular building solutions, drafting with Revit, and conducting code research under a Project Architect’s guidance.

Ideal candidates are pursuing architecture degrees, have a 3.0+ GPA, are authorized to work in the U.S., and are eager to travel for occasional on-site observations and the Internship Summit.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
• Knowledge and experience with Revit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing architectural plans, sections, elevations, details, and other drafting tasks under supervision.
• Prepare shop drawings for plant fabrication using Revit.
• Develop construction details for shop installation and site-built conditions.
• Research products such as finishes and fixtures.
• Research building codes and standards for compliance.
• Occasionally join team on on-site observations in Arizona and Texas.
