Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an Architectural Designer Intern to join our Troy, MI team for Summer 2027. You will assist in designing modular building solutions and gain hands-on experience alongside architects, engineers, and construction professionals.

This on-site internship runs from May 24, 2027 through August 13, 2027, with exposure to drafting, fabrication shop drawings, and building code research, along with on-site observations at projects in North America.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Willingness to travel for Internship Summit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing architectural plans, sections, elevations, and details.
• Prepare shop drawings for plant fabrication using Revit.
• Develop construction details for shop installation and on-site conditions.
• Research finishes, fixtures, and building codes for compliance.
• Join on-site observations in Arizona and Texas as needed.
• Provide solutions to daily design and integration challenges.
• Promote safe and healthy work practices per policy.
