Job summary

Great Plains Manufacturing partners with Kansas State University–Salina for the GPM Scholars Program, a paid apprenticeship and scholarship for students enrolled full-time at K-State Salina in Salina, KS.

Scholars commit year-round to work at least 20 hours per week as Manufacturing Apprentices while pursuing an accelerated three-year BS degree, receiving hands-on training across multiple manufacturing domains and a substantial scholarship.

Qualifications

• K-State Salina students enrolled full-time in Engineering or Manufacturing programs.
• Eligible degree programs include Mechanical Engineering Technology, Robotics, Automation Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering Technology, and related programs.
• Maintain a college GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Available to work year-round at least 20 hours per week while remaining enrolled full-time.
• Pursue an accelerated three-year Bachelor of Science degree plan.

Responsibilities

• Attend K-State Salina full-time year-round (Fall, Spring, Summer).
• Work year-round as Manufacturing Apprentice for minimum 20 hours/week.
• Rotate through Assembly, Fabrication, Welding, Material Handling, and Engineering Support.
• Complete more than 2,400 hours of on-the-job training by graduation.
