Job summary

The State of Missouri’s Department of Social Services – Children’s Division seeks individuals to provide family preservation and reunification services, work with at-risk children and families, and perform home visits. The base location is the 12th Circuit in Audrain County, MO.

You will support safety, permanency, and well-being of children through case management and family education, with opportunities for higher pay differentials where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; pursuing Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation for field duties.
• Pass criminal background checks and Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect.

Responsibilities

• Maintain case files, correspondence and client confidential information in paper and electronic form.
• Provide paraprofessional services coaching clients to foster a positive family unit aligned with case goals and plans.
• Offer instruction and guidance to parents on child development and child rearing techniques.
• Assist with activities of daily living including goal setting, planning and basic life skills.
• Provide support in developing parenting skills, stress management, crisis management, and safety networks.
• Provide education for parents on how to access community resources.
• Conduct follow up contacts as directed.

Job Location: Base Location is the 12th Circuit - Audrain County

Individual(s) selected for this position may receive a higher rate based on a pay differential(e.g., shift, or time-of-service pay).

Department of Social Services partners with families and communities to protect children, rehabilitate youth and move families to self-sufficiency so that Missourians can lead safe, healthy and productive lives.

1. Maintain case file, correspondence and client confidential information in paper and electronic form.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, but are currently pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree.
• Valid driver’s license - must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and have access to transportation to perform duties in the field, such as home visits, transport clients, attend meetings, etc.
• Pass criminal background checks and the Central Registry of Child Abuse and Neglect.

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to travel throughout the State of Missouri as needed
