Job summary

Kendall Hunt Publishing Company in Dubuque, IA is seeking an HR Intern to support our Human Resources team and gain hands-on experience in recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR operations. This internship is located at our home office in Dubuque, Iowa starting Summer 2027.

No prior HR experience is required, but we are looking for organized, motivated, coachable individuals who are eager to learn.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed bachelor's degree in HR, business, or communications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional demeanor.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and coordinating the Summer Internship Program.
• Communicate with internship candidates and colleges during recruiting.
• Maintain internship program information and documentation.
• Create and maintain job postings on LinkedIn and other platforms.
• Assist with scheduling interviews and candidate communications.
• Support recruiting events, career fairs, and outreach.
• Collaborate with Recruiter and Marketing on recruiting content.
• Assist with onboarding activities and new hire paperwork.
• Maintain HR records and HR system data updates.
• Prepare HR reports and administrative documents.
• Provide general administrative support to the HR team.
