Job summary

Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is offering a paid Heat Treat Trainee program designed to train individuals into skilled heat-treat roles within a manufacturing setting. Training occurs on 1st shift for 4-6 weeks with placement on 2nd or 3rd shifts thereafter.

Starting pay is $23.22 per hour with a $1.00 night shift premium; position is supplemental with minimum 40 hours per week and limited benefits. Relocation is not offered and there is no travel required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or previous work/volunteer experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime when required, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operation, and adjustment of heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears.
• Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures, some extreme.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching.
• Occasional stooping, crouching, and climbing.
• Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating.
• Standing for a minimum of 8 hour shifts.
