Job summary

Caterpillar Building KK in East Peoria, IL is offering a Heat Treat Apprentice Trainee program. This paid training position is designed to develop the next generation of heat-treat professionals in a manufacturing setting. Opportunities exist on 2nd and 3rd shifts after 4–6 weeks of on-first-shift training.

Starting pay is $23.22 per hour with a $1.00 night shift premium. This supplemental role provides minimum 40 hours per week with limited benefits; relocation is not offered and no travel is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or prior work/volunteer experience.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operation, and adjustment of heat-treat equipment to perform carburizing, cycle annealing and die quenching of gears.
• Work in environments with frequently changing temperatures, some extreme.
• Frequent walking, bending, reaching; occasional stooping and climbing.
• Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, rotating; standing 8 hours.
