Job summary

fab2 is seeking Process Engineering Interns for the summer term in Austin, TX. You will design and run experiments, learn semiconductor tools, and help rebuild fabrication processes. The role blends traditional processing methods with new techniques and requires a hands-on, problem-solving mindset.

This internship offers exposure to deposition, etch, lithography, and metrology while focusing on yield, throughput, and process optimization. Housing and visa sponsorship are among offered benefits.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in engineering.
  • Ability to learn quickly and troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Hands-on experience with wafer fabrication tools (etch, deposition, patterning) and metrology tools (AFM, SEM, thin film measurement).
  • Recipe development and optimization for subset of thin film deposition, dry etch, or lithography.

Responsibilities

  • Design and run experiments with senior process engineers.
  • Read papers to inform experimental design; whiteboard and iterate ideas.
  • Operate semiconductor tools (deposition, etch, lithography, metrology).
  • Develop, transfer, and optimize process recipes across platforms for consistency, yield, throughput.
  • Analyze process data and document findings for the team.
