Proven Media is seeking a PR & Communications Intern to gain hands-on experience in a busy public relations agency. You will work with real client accounts on media relations, writing, research, social media, coverage tracking and campaign execution.

The ideal candidate writes well, is curious about the news, highly organized and eager to learn. This part-time, in-office internship offers practical experience and opportunities to contribute ideas.

Qualifications

• Current college student or recent graduate in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related field.
• Strong writing and proofreading skills required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines.
• Interest in news, media, and current events.
• Highly organized and dependable.
• Able to work independently and in a small team.

Responsibilities

• Research journalists, publications and media opportunities for client accounts.
• Build and maintain targeted media lists.
• Monitor news and identify relevant opportunities for clients.
• Draft and edit press releases, media pitches, executive bios and other materials.
• Research client industries, competitors, trends and news.
• Track media coverage and prepare client coverage reports.
• Assist with social media research and content development.
• Support client events, media events and special projects.
• Assist with media outreach and follow-up.
• Participate in team meetings and campaign planning.
• Maintain organized client files and campaign materials.
