We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starting PR & Communications Intern who wants hands‐on experience inside a busy public relations agency and an opportunity to learn how strategic communications work in the real world.
This is not a “get coffee and make copies” internship.
Our PR & Communications Intern will work alongside the Proven Media team on real client accounts and gain practical experience in media relations, writing, research, social media, coverage tracking, events and PR campaign execution.
The ideal candidate is a strong writer, naturally curious about the news, highly organized and eager to learn. You should be comfortable taking initiative, managing deadlines and contributing ideas.
Previous PR, communications, journalism or marketing experience is a plus, but a great attitude, strong writing skills and willingness to learn are just as important.
How PR professionals identify reporters, develop media lists, pitch stories and build relationships with journalists.
How to write press releases, media pitches, executive bios, talking points and other professional communications materials.
How a PR agency manages multiple clients, deadlines, approvals and communications strategies.
How news, thought leadership, trends, events and business objectives come together to create meaningful media opportunities.
How agencies track coverage, measure results and demonstrate PR value to clients.
How media and industry events are planned, promoted and executed.
Hours: 15–20 hours per week
