Job summary

Getty Digital seeks a Graduate Internship in Digital Preservation for 12 months (Sept 2027–Aug 2028) in Los Angeles. The intern will gain hands-on experience preserving Getty’s archives, including art, institutions, and born-digital materials, working on ingest workflows and web archives.

Responsibilities include developing preservation plans, QA for web archives, metadata assessment, and policy drafting, with a $52,500 grant plus relocation support and travel funding.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program or have completed a relevant graduate degree on or after January 1, 2024, with postgraduate experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and test workflows for ingesting content into a managed system.
• Develop preservation plans for file characterization, migration, and normalization.
• Perform quality assurance on web archives and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Assess technical metadata for digital assets and help draft related policies.
