Job summary

The J. Paul Getty Trust invites applications for a Graduate Internship in Digital Preservation.

This full-time, 12-month internship in Los Angeles offers hands-on experience preserving Getty's digital collections, with tasks spanning ingestion workflows, preservation planning, metadata assessment, and policy drafting. Interns receive relocation assistance, paid vacation, observed holidays, and travel support, with eligibility to enroll in Getty’s health care plan.

Qualifications

• Graduate students currently enrolled in a relevant field for the internship.
• Recent graduates with a relevant graduate degree completed on or after January 1, 2024.
• Applicants must demonstrate interest in digital preservation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and test workflows for ingesting content into a managed system.
• Develop preservation plans for file characterization, migration, and normalization.
• Perform quality assurance on web archives and resolve technical issues.
• Assess technical metadata for digital assets and draft related policies.
